Scholarship Coverage
The awardee will receive:
- Tuition fee waiver (entry, fixed & variable) for 8 semesters,
- New Student Affairs fee,
- Courseware fee waiver (exclude iPad).
BIMA is NOT a fully funded scholarship. Costs which are NOT in the scholarship coverage are listed below.
- Bachelor's Degree E-Visa & Immigration Stay Permits (E-ITAS) cost - 1 Year, approximately 6,000,000 IDR
- Immigration Stay Permits (E-ITAS) cost for 2nd year to 4th year, approximately 4,500,000 IDR/year
- Round trip international airfare from origin country to Indonesia and from Indonesian airport to Yogyakarta,
- Living cost for food, groceries, and its kind, approximately 3,000,000 IDR/month
- Boarding house cost, approximately 1,500,000 IDR/month
- Medical cost,
- Academics activities, namely: internship, professional placement, student exchange, international exposure, student study service (KKN), and thesis,
- Any other academic activities which are not covered in the BIMA program.

General Requirements
- A High school graduate on the academic year of 2026/2027 or before that period
- The candidate should be 21 years old on August 1, 2026, at maximum.
Documents Requirements
Candidates must prepare the documents as required:
- Scan of Submission Form (see 'How to Apply' section)
- Scan of High School Diploma (with English Translation)
- Scan of Academic Score Transcript
- Scan of Scholarship Application Essay. The essay talks about:
- Reason to join this scholarship,
- Reason to choose the study program.
- Scan of Passport valid for more than 18 Months (cover and identity page)
- Scan of Candidate Formal Photograph
- Scan of Health Insurance Statement Letter
- The awardees’ parent/guardian must provide bank statement stating that they have US$2,000 as a requirement for visa application (based on Permenkumham Number 22 Year 2023).
All documents must be in English and format in PDF or JPG. Please make sure your documents are readable.

Rules, Restrictions, and Facility
- The awardees must not commit a felony.
- The awardees must obey Indonesian Law and Regulations.
- The awardees must obey the University’s Rules and Regulations.
- The awardees are in possession of health insurance/travel insurance which covers all the medical expenses.
- The awardees will not marry during the scholarship period.
- The awardees will not ask for any scholarship or refugee asylum from Indonesia Government.
- Once admitted by one study program/faculty, transfer to another study program/faculty is strictly prohibited.
- Once announced as a scholarship awardee, the awardee must provide confirmation within 2 weeks from the announcement date. If there is no confirmation after the deadline, the scholarship will be canceled.
- Being punctual and focused on passing all courses offered in their program to enhance the academic outcome. Periodic assessments aim to evaluate awardees' eligibility to continue the program.
- If the awardees fail to achieve required CGPA (2.00 for exact sciences students or 3.00 for social sciences students), the scholarship will be terminated on the next semester. The scholarship will be enabled again after CGPA fulfil the requirements.
- If the awardees fail to finish the study in 8 (eight) semesters, the scholarship will be terminated.
- If the awardees take a study leave (cuti studi), the scholarship will be terminated.
- The awardees are willing to participate in academic and non-academic activities held by the study program, faculty, or university.
- The awardees willing to be monitored by the health authority according to Indonesian health protocol laws and regulations.
- The awardees will be accompanied in choosing a boarding house if needed.
Resigning, Completing, and Returning Policy
Dropping all courses or resigning from the scholarship program, students are required to refund the scholarship. If students consider quitting from UAJY Scholarships Program due to unforeseen circumstances, contact the Kantor Admisi dan Akademik (KAA) for further assistance.
Temporary return home when the program is ongoing due to emergency or personal reasons is subject to the university’s approval (Dean Permission). If permitted, the awardees may return home for a maximum of 30 days and keep the university updated. Please be advised that failure to report to the university or exceed the permitted leaving period will be considered a resignation from the UAJY Scholarships Program. Hence, the scholarship will be terminated.
Return home after program completion be marked on the graduation ceremony. The awardees must leave Indonesian territory within 30 days after the graduation ceremony. The awardees must apply for Exit Permit Only (EPO) and book the ticket by submitting their passport to the Kantor Admisi dan Akademik at least 2 weeks before departure.
Returning home because of failing to complete the program will be marked on the confirmed dropped-out from the Academic Affairs. The awardees must apply for Exit Permit Only (EPO) and book the ticket by submitting their passport to the Kantor Admisi dan Akademik at least 2 weeks before departure.
Return home permanently because of a law-breaking situation, chronic or terminal illness (based on an official diagnosis prepared by a certified physician), or misdemeanour will be treated as a failure to complete the program.

- New Student Affairs fee and Courseware fee waiver,
- Bahasa Indonesia Class for 8 months (if necessary).

- If the awardees take a study leave (cuti studi), the scholarship will be terminated.
- The awardees are willing to participate in academic and non-academic activities held by the study program, faculty, or university.
